Edward Hopper

Dine and Dash

My Husband and I are sitting at the table starting at each other intently, as if to say "are you sure about this?" He gave a small nod, and I took in a big breath. The restaurant is busy, and filled with the sound of chatter from happy customers, so it shouldn't be too hard to leave unnoticed. My face tightens as I think of what I'm about to do, It's so wrong, yet so thrilling and exciting. I feel the heat of my coffee mug against my palms as I finish it off. I take in a quick and anxious breath, and in with it comes the sweet aroma of fresh fruits and pastries. I stand and my husband quickly joins me, and off we walk right out to the car. Not a single person paid a lick of attention. That was easier than I thought.

  1. I've been in similar scenarios where I knew no one was paying any attention to me, where I was alone in the crowd and could disappear...
